5 Easy Kid-Friendly Hikes in Maui

As always, Maui can’t wait to welcome you! Please be respectful of nature and always obey any signs posted on trails, beaches, or parks. They are there for a reason <3 <3 Stay safe and make beautiful memories to last a lifetime.

1. Iao Needle Lookout Trail and Ethnobotanical Loop - 0.6 miles

This is the easiest way to view the lao Needle with little ones! It’s a pretty easy walk that takes about 20ish minutes without stopping, and, let’s be real, you’ll be stopping a lot with little ones!

2. Twin Falls Trail - 1.8 miles

This hike near Haiku, Maui is longer but with beautiful waterfall views! This will give you and your kids a taste of the peaceful Maui forest. Pack a picnic (and tons of snacks) and enjoy exploring with your fam.

3. Seven Sacred Pools Trail - 0.6 miles

This trail inside the Haleakala National Park is about half a mile but PACKS in the beauty!! This easy trail leads you through viewing seven waterfalls, each more breathtaking than the last. You walk through the forest and enjoy ocean views. It’s seriously so pretty.

4. Nakalele Blowhole Trail - 1.2 miles

I would say this trail is moderate and might be better for slightly older children. Nakalele Blowhole is a huge attraction, and this trail leads you through incredible rock formations that you won’t see anywhere else.

5. Pa Ka’oao - 0.5 miles

Another kid-friendly trail inside Haleakala National Park! This half-mile hike offers views of the crater, Big Island, and West Maui. You’re way up on this trail with an elevation of 9,000 feet! It’s something to consider, but it might be totally worth it!
