The (Surprising) Perks of a Sunrise Beach Photoshoot

If you’re planning your family vacation to Maui and are in the researching Maui family photographers stage, you might think a sunrise photo session sounds insane. Who would want to get up early on vacation!? Well, I’m here to tell you that a sunrise beach session might just be your favorite thing ever. Don’t believe me?

Here are the top five perks of doing a sunrise beach photoshoot.

1. YOUR KIDS WILL BE UP ANYWAY!

The truth is that your kids are going to get up early anyway due to the time change! Wouldn’t it be better to get out and do something really fun since you’re going to be up anyway?

2. THE BEACH IS LESS CROWDED

The beach will be much less crowded at this time of day. In fact, many times, we’re the only ones at the beach! It’s a magical experience to have the beach to yourself.

3. YOU CAN AVOID HEAVY WINDS

Did you know that the average wind on any given afternoon in Maui is 15 mph? That’s WINDY. The winds are usually calmer and gentler during sunrise, which is perfect for photos. Sunset can get very windy, so don’t say I didn’t warn you!

4. THE GORGEOUS COLORS

Yes, sunset has beautiful colors, but don’t sleep on the sunrise (ha!). The sunrise offers stunning hues of pinks, blues, and oranges that will create the dreamiest backdrop for your family photos.

5. YOU HAVE THE REST OF THE DAY

Once your session is done, your family has the rest of the day to enjoy Hawaiian. I’ve even had clients make their early tee times after their sessions. This might be useful if you have reluctant family members. You can assure them that this will be fast and fun, and then you can go off to do whatever activity you had planned that day.

SUNRISE SESSIONS ARE WORTH THE EARLY ARLAM

As you can see, sunrise sessions are really worth the early alarm clock. Even if you don’t consider yourself an early morning person, you will be so happy that you did. Between the quiet and calm beach, you’ll be able to relax and have fun with your family while i’m there documenting it all! Plus, you’ll be able to go home and brag about the gorgeous Hawaii sunrises.

MAUI FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

PS) I am a Maui family photographer, but I’m also a mom of three, so I totally understand why you might hesitate to book a sunrise family photo session. Trust me, you will love that you did this for yourself and your family. You’re already going to have such a wonderful trip, and a family photo session will make it incredible.
